My family
There are 4 of us.
Alan has more years in front of him than the rest of us. He is 14 and he is a member of the Scouts.
He has always been taught at home and is progressing quite well with the Portuguese language.
Esther keeps us all well fed and watered. She is our educator and advisor, she is able to speak some Portuguese so she is our interpreter, and like all wives keeps her age a closely guarded secret.
Uncle Hugh, a retired Ship's Master, is 81 and sadly is disabled. He spends most of his time indoors. The highlights of his day are Esther's delicious meals and English-speaking films on the television, which are quite frequent here.
Les, that's me. I am 72 with too much ambition and not enough time, energy or money. Known locally as the reformed Englishman, 'Reformed' is the Portuguese word for retired.
Our pets include budgies, doves, chickens, Guinea pigs, a Chinchilla, some fish and four terrapins. After much searching. Esther finally found a donkey, click here for pictures.
