OpenOffice.org 2 is a complete replacement for Microsoft office you get a database program, a spreadsheet, a drawing program, impress allows you to make slide show presentations and of course a superb word processor that can handle Microsoft word documents.
Firefox is a web browser it is the best alternative to Microsoft Internet Explorer. Once you have tried it you will never want to go back. It is faster, easer to use, and has fewer virus attacks. On the disk is Thunderbird, a well proven mail client much nicer than Outlook express, and also Seamonkey and Sunbird. All of these programs are in formats for windows xp, 2000, 98, 98se ,95 and nt. Formats for Mac OSX and Linux are provided on the same disk.
This is a Linux operating system, a good replacement for Windows XP with no product key and no activation required.
The disc I provide is a live distro. Mepis will run from the cd without putting anything on your hard drive and without altering anything on your computer. This gives you a chance to try out some of the brilliant software that is included. Then if you're happy just click the install icon to install Mepis 6 on your hard drive. I have included the manual as a PDF file on the disc.
