        the Legend of Shaka
Come and see what it is like living in real Portugal!  Spend some time in a small village learning from the very friendly local people.   Learn how to:-  live off the land, grow vegetables and fruit especially Oranges, Grapes, Olives, delicious fresh Figs, Watermelons in fact most of the exotic fruit that is usually displayed in the supermarkets in the UK, except this fruit is not designed to travel and to sit in store for weeks, this fruit is designed for eating and you will find out the difference. (This offer is open to any member of my family or any one interested in helping on my farm) look at this link

You might even learn some of the language.

But most of all learn how to be active in your senior years.  It is not unusual for Portuguese villagers to manage their small farms single handed when they are well in to their 80's. This will include milking goats or sheep, planting and tending crops on a daily basis.  I know a lady who is over 90 and she helps with communal chores like picking grapes, potato picking and gathering olives and you will meet people much older than this still active with perfect health.

If you arrive by car you will travel on some of the finest roads in Europe ''courtesy of the EEC'' and you will have them almost to yourself. If you drive from the UK (about 1400 miles that's if you choose to use the ferry crossing from Dover to Calais) it will take about 4 days maybe camping in France, Spain and northern Portugal.

From Lisbon airport you can hire a car or you can travel by train to my village or by express train to Castelo Branco where I can collect you and take you to your holiday accommodation.  Which ever way you decide to travel here I will enjoy taking you to Castelo Branco on market day ''Monday'' and spend some time during your stay traveling to some of the exciting real Portuguese spots most travelers don't find.
